EU special envoy for non-proliferation and disarmament visits Japan

Jacek Bylica, European Union principal adviser and special envoy for non-proliferation and disarmament, visited Japan from 6 to 10 July, 2014.

During his stay, he took part in the 6th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Inter-Sessional Meeting (ISM) on Non-Proliferation and Disarmament, as well as the 18th meeting of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP) Study Group on Countering the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction in the Asia Pacific.

He also held meetings with senior Japanese officials, House of Representatives Member Kono Taro, chair of the Japan chapter of Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament, and Japanese intellectuals. These bilateral discussions covered current non-proliferation and space issues of common EU and Japan interest.
