President Barroso met Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe

Today, just ahead of the G7 summit in Brussels, President Barroso met with Japan's Prime Minister Shinzō Abe.

In follow-up to the EU-Japan Summit on 7th May, leaders discussed the ongoing negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), the fifth round of Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) negotiations which has been scheduled for 23-25 June, and finally the enhanced cooperation on Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP).
