Outline:
This event is a follow-up to the full house screening of "Saving 10,000 -Winning a War on Suicide in Japan" in November. It will feature a discussion on some key issues raised by the movie and will gather perspectives from Japan, the US and EU. The keynote address will be given by Dr. Yukio Ishizuka, a Harvard-trained psychiatrist who practices in the US. This will be followed by an expert panel discussion to be moderated by Dr. Rene Duignan, director of Saving 10,000. All attendees will receive a free DVD of the Saving 10,000 movie.

Summary bio's of speakers and panellists
Dr Rene Duignan is an Adjunct Research Fellow at Temple University Japan (Institute of Contemporary Asian Studies) where his research focus is on suicide prevention. His central occupation is as economist for the Delegation of the European Union to Japan. He is also an economics lecturer at Aoyama Gakuin University. "Saving 10,000" is his first documentary.
Dr Yukio Ishizuka graduated from Keio University Medical School, Tokyo, Japan in 1964. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at Mass Mental Health Center, Harvard Medical School in 1969. He is the founder of Japan International Medical Students Association (JIMSA), which received the coveted Japanese Health Culture Award in 2007 by the Minister of Japanese Health at the Japanese Imperial Palace. Happily married for 46 years with three children, he is also a member of the Salmagundi Club of N.Y. as a resident artist.
Reverend Yukio Saito is the former President of Inochi no Denwa and Chair of the Japanese Association for Suicide Prevention. For five decades, Rev. Saito has been educating the public and lobbying to improve suicide prevention. He has published more than 40 books.
Akira Katayama is counsellor at the Suicide Prevention Unit of the Cabinet Office of the Japanese government.
