EU News 303/2016

16 September 2016

Jyrki Katainen, European Commission Vice-President in charge of Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, will be visiting Japan from 19 to 21 September. The main purposes of his trip are to raise awareness in Japan about the Investment Plan for Europe, which aims to drive investment in strategic projects across the European Union, and to exchange views with Japanese interlocutors on the state of play of the EU-Japan free trade negotiations.

During his stay, Vice-President Katainen will meet with Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko, Finance Minister Taro Aso and Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga. He will also take part in two speaking events, one at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the other hosted by BNP Paribas Japan.
